This course has been designed to give an introduction about the major concepts, principles, and applications of microbiology as a diverse science. The study of this course will help the students to learn more about what the microorganisms are, how they function, and how they are important for life. The course covers fundamental principles of microbiology including historical perspectives, cell structure, and function, characteristics of different groups of bacteria, viruses, fungi, algae and protozoa, and scope of microbiology in human welfare.
