About This Course

Microbiology and Biotechnology are fields of applied biology that involves the use of living things in engineering, technology, medicine, and other useful applications. This course is designed as a core course for Microbiology program which is all about the understanding of the very basic aspects of microbiology. The objective of this course is to familiarize the students with the basic laboratory techniques necessary to study microorganisms. This course includes the basic concepts of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, classification, bacterial multiplication, generation time, nutritional requirements for growth, measurement of growth, culture preservation, control of microbial growth etc..
